Hypnotherapy and writing (and externalising my thoughts!) are some of my very favourite things so I am jumping at the opportunity to combine them by creating this new blog. As I begin my Hypnotherapist journey FINALLY on THIS side of the Atlantic...as I wanted to do in the early 2000's before I left for the States, I find myself SO excited. But first, I should introduce myself: I am Jessie Way, Certified Hypnotherapist, based in Camberley, Surrey, and after a career break, I have picked up my hypnotherapy tools, have dusted them off, am adding to my tool box and am off and running into the therapy world to see what good I can do and who and how I can help.
I hope over time in this blog, to address some of the common myths and misconceptions surrounding hypnosis, to describe the difference between hypnosis and hypnotherapy, to answer common questions (feel free to ask me any!), to discuss what hypnosis and hypnotherapy can do for you, and much, much more. I will even teach some self-hypnosis that you yourself can apply as and when you choose to! Ah, but does it actually work, I hear you ask?!
I was on a plane once flying alone with my then 10-month old son. He fell asleep in my arms and I was rendered unable to read a magazine, play with my phone or do anything at all except to gaze at him. I did gaze at him for a while, but then...I decided since I had nothing else to do I may as well hypnotize myself! SO I closed my eyes, rested my head back and I kicked a serious sugar habit during that flight which lasted a LONG time! Self hypnosis really works, as long as you let it. As does hypnotherapy and hypnosis.
And so, what I will ask, and I'll come back to this for my next blog, is this: If you could wave a magic wand and something in your life was better tomorrow, what would it be? Is it something you perceive to be in your control? Or do you feel that it is completely out of your control? What would it be like if the magic wand had done as you asked? Would the wish coming true be a blessing, or when you really think about it, would it be a nightmare? What other things would you wave a magic wand at?
Just some thoughts to ponder.
For now, I say goodbye, and thank you for stopping by!
Feel free to say hello or to leave comments with questions you'd like answers to (hypnotherapy related!) and I'll happily respond!
Amazing. So proud of your journey to get here!
